Before trying Medifast I was miserably overweight. None of my clothes fit, the clothes I wore had to have elastic, I felt sluggish, I had no energy and just plain hated to go out in public in the shape I was in. My doctor diagnosed me with high blood pressure, heart arythmia and insulin resistance which basically means pre-diabetic. He gave me a new prescription to take for life every time I saw him. I tried several diets and lost weight on them, but always seemed to gain it back.
The South Beach Diet was one of the diets that I lost a lot of weight on, but the diet was so hard to prepare and there were so many trips to the grocery store. The meals were delicious, but sticking to the South Beach schedule proved to be nearly impossible for me. The other problem was that I felt tired and weak. This is because of the South Beach Diet being a "low carb" fad diet. Just like with the low fat diets of the 90's, a few years from now you won't find anyone that would think of going on a low carb diet.
First, before I got on Medifast I convinced several family members to go on the diet with me. That way I removed the temptations that come up when only one person is on a diet. It has worked great too! We have all worked together to help each other stay on track. Best of all we haven't had to suffer through watching someone eating a delicious desert in front of us.
After doing The Medifast Diet for 21 days I had lost 20 lbs. I've even lost more weight since then. My clothes fit now without feeling like they are cutting me in half. I no longer look for clothes with elastic. I have tons of energy, all my health problems have gone away and I have gotten rid of all my prescriptions. The difference with Medifast is the fact that I know exactly how to keep the weight off after I reach my goal.
I would also highly recommend geting The Medifast Book. It has all the information you need to completely understand how weight loss works and how to keep it off. By educating myself, with The Medifast Book, I am able to go out to eat one night per week and make food choices that don't cause me to stop losing weight.
